One year of exploration, innovation, and poignant storytelling, and one year of Rocket Boys Season 2. The second season of this remarkable series has not only enthralled audiences with its captivating narrative but also showcased the extraordinary journey of two visionary minds, Dr Homi Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai, who played pivotal roles in shaping India’s scientific landscape. The cast, Jim Sarbh, who played the character of Dr. Homi Bhabha, and Ishwak, who played Dr Vikram Sarabhai, Director Abhay Pannu, and Producer Siddharth Roy Kapur have expressed their deep-seated emotions and experiences in bringing this historical series to life.

To celebrate one year of the second season, the people involved reminisced about how special the show was to them. Jim Sarbh, who played Dr. Homi Bhabha on the show, revealed that he “Loved playing Dr. Homi Bhabha, one of our country’s greatest minds. I loved working with Abhay Pannu, Nikkhil Advani, and the rest of the team: Harshvir Oberoi, Meghna Gandhi, Achint Thakkar, well, the list goes on and on. The team worked incredibly hard and believed in the story we were trying to tell, and I am grateful the show resonated in the hearts and minds of the audience. Thank you for watching, and for sharing in the vision Dr. Sarabhai and Dr. Bhabha had for our country, and the camaraderie, humour, and pursuit of excellence that they shared with each other.”

It can be seen that the show was special to everyone involved in it, adding onto this, Ishwak Singh, who played Vikram Sarabhai on the show, remarked, “The first scene of Rocket Boys, which is a boardroom scene with Homi Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai arguing over the future of the country, politics, and science was very special. The conflict between their ideologies and the undercurrent tension between two friends is very palpable. That experience was very special; it hit close to home.”

One of the most special and touching moments of the show revolved around the bond between Vikram Sarabhai and Mrinali Sarabhai, commenting on the bond, Regina Cassandra said, “Rocket Boys started as a project but ended up being more than just that. To kickstart my OTT journey essaying the role of Mrinalini Sarabhai seemed like the ideal challenge, especially since we were just coming out of a pandemic and work was pretty scarce for all. Forever grateful to Nikhil, Monisha, Madhu, Sid Roy Kapur, Abhay Pannu, Ishwak, Jim, Saba, Harshvir, Uma Amma and every other member of our team. Most of all Mallika Ma’am and Revanta for being my guiding forces through it all.”

There’s no doubt in mind that this show’s impact was a great one, both on the audience and the people behind it. Discussing the impact of the show, director Abhay Pannu remarked, “Rocket Boys has been life-altering for me and I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who watched and loved our show. I think the best part about the show is that even after a year, people are still discovering the show and finding new aspects to resonate with and love. That’s what makes it really special and I hope that continues for many years to come.”
