The tablet market in India has grown significantly in the third quarter of 2023. According to a report by CyberMedia Research (CMR), India’s tablet market in Q3 2023 saw a 41% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth. The growth was driven by strong demand for 5G tablets and premium models. As per the report, 5G tablet shipments grew 86% year-on-year (YoY) in Q3 2023.This accounted for 16% of overall tablet shipments. Meanwhile, demand for premium tablets (Rs 30,000 or above) and their shipments increased 79% QoQ. However, the overall tablet market witnessed a 10% YoY decline in Q3 2023.
How different brands performed in Q3 2023
Apple led the India tablet market in Q3 2023 with a 26% market share. The South Korean tech giant Samsung took the second position with 21% and Lenovo took the third place with 20% market share. With a 20% increase, Apple also experienced the strongest YoY growth among the top three players.
Samsung secured the second spot with the help of its key models, including the Tab A8 (Wi-Fi + 4G) and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite P613 (WiFi, 4GB 64GB). These models accounted for 18% and 15% market share, respectively.

Lenovo’s table models like the Lenovo Tab M10 Gen3 4G and Tab M9 (Wi-Fi +4G 4GB 64GB), held 14% and 10% market share, mainly in the value-for-money tablet segment (Rs 7,000-Rs 25,000).
The report also predicts that the overall tablet market in India is expected to experience single-digit YoY growth in 2023.
