Apple rolled out the iOS 16.3 update at the end of January. A few weeks later, the Cupertino-based tech giant has now released another update for iOS16, its latest generation. The iOS 16.3.1 has 334MB in size and comes with some key changes and improvements. The latest update can be downloaded on Apple iPhone 8 and above devices.
iOS 16.3.1: How to download
To install the new update, iPhone users need to head to the Settings app and choose the General section. Here, they can find the Software Update option, inside which users will see the Download and Install toggle. Click this option to download and install the update.
iOS 16.3.1: What has changed
Enhanced Crash detection: Apple claims that this update will add improvements to the newly released crash detection feature. The company introduced the feature with its latest iPhone 14 series. With this feature, iPhones can recognise when the user gets involved in a crash and can alert emergency services. However, this feature was reportedly producing false positives from non-crash situations. Apple claims that the new update will optimise the feature and will address the false positive issue.
Fixing iCloud settings: Earlier, some users noted that they were facing problems while enabling or disabling the automatic iCloud backups on iPhones and iPad. Users started reporting the issue when Apple released the iOS 16.3 update last month.

Find My requests via Siri: The company has also patched the bug that wasn’t allowing some users to find devices with the help of Siri
New HomePod features: The latest update brings the HomePod software to version 16.3.2. Apple claims, “This update addresses an issue where asking Siri for smart home requests may fail, and also includes general performance and stability improvements.”
Apple HomePod 2 has recently gone on sale in India. The company released its second-gen smart speaker in January. HomePod 2 carries a price tag of Rs 32,900 and will be available in two colour options — White and Midnight.
