The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Holkar Stadium in Indore got over before Lunch on Day 3. Several reactions have been pouring in on social media after the match in which Australia beat the hosts by 9 wickets to register their first win on the tour. However, this is third Test match on the trot which has finished inside 3 days with several questions being raised on the nature of the pitch.
While some have taken a dig at the Indian team management’s decision to prepare a rank turner which has come back to haunt them in this match, others have said that it makes more sense to stop selling Day 4 and Day 5 tickets of Test matches in the country.

Talking about the pitch, India captain Rohit Sharma said that it was a collective call to have these kind of surfaces for this series. He added that when matches in Pakistan were ending in draw, it was being described as “Boring.” “We are making it interesting for you all,” he said.
He even said that even on pitches outside India, matches have finished inside 3 days, giving the example of the Test match in South Africa.
Steve Smith, who was leading Australia in the absence of Pat Cummins in this Test match, said that conditions are very different in India when compared to Pakistan as the team should be prepared to get rid of their egos when trying to score runs in India. Smith described in Pakistan as “flat.”
