PAK vs AFG: Pakistan cricket team’s decision to rest its key players for three-match T20 International series against Afghanistan has backfired badly. The series opener was comfortably won by Afghanistan, who continued their winning momentum to beat the Men in Green in series-decider (PAK vs AFG 2nd T20I) to win the T20 series 2-0 with one match remaining.

Meanwhile, among many Pakistan cricketers who left fans disappointed was Azam Khan. The young wicket-keeper batter managed to score only one run off four balls in Pakistan vs Afghanistan 2nd T20 International. A video has gone viral on social media in which an angry fan can be seen body-shaming Azam Khan with his gestures while the batter was returning to the pavilion. Notably, Azam had departed for a golden duck in AFG vs PAK 1st T20I.

Reacting to Pakistan’s humiliating loss, Shadab Khan, at the post-match presentation ceremony, said, “It was a good score. We were struggling again. If you look at stats, if you lose 3 wickets in powerplay, you lose 70 percent of the games. I think there’s nervousness – they’re playing for the first time for Pakistan (the new batters). We have to back them. Sometimes you don’t perform but attitude matters. That’s more important for me. They have talent. They will be great cricketers. Will play for pride tomorrow.”

Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan scored 130 runs for loss of six wickets in allotted 20 overs. In reply, Afghanistan achieved the target in 19.5 overs for the loss of three wickets. The third and last T20 between the two teams will be played on 27th March.
