Gill continued his dream run in ODI cricket with fifth hundred of the year and took 92 balls to reach his 6th hundred in the format.
The opening batter Gill also owned the record of becoming the fastest Indian batter to score six ODI centuries (35 innings). He went past Shikhar Dhawan’s (46) record of fastest to six ODI hundreds for India.
KL Rahul (53), Virat Kohli (61), Gautam Gambhir (68) are the other batters to have scored fastest six ODI tons for India.
Gill also joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Graeme Smith, Upul Tharanga and Kohli to score five or more ODI hundreds in a calendar year before turning 25.
Gill smacked 6 fours and 4 sixes during his 104 runs knock off 97 balls.
On the other hand, Iyer finally had a huge sigh of relief after a long injury lay off as he smashed century .
It will be another boost for India World Cup preparations with Iyer getting back his mojo back with his third ODI century that came off 86 balls.
Iyer witnessed a massive success at number three position in ODIs as he scored 642 runs at an impressive average of 58.36 in 11 innings. But his innings came to an end when he holed out to Matthew Short at deep midwicket off Sean Abbott.
He scored 105 off 90 balls laced with 11 fours and 3 sixes.
