After launching rockets into space, NASA is launching its streaming platform, NASA+. The streaming platform has been in beta for months and will be available to everyone on November 7.
The streaming platform is part of NASA’s broader digital transformation that includes a revamped website and app. NASA+ will be a subscription-free streaming service, providing users with access to its Emmy Award-winning live coverage and insights into its missions through a range of original video series’, and all this will be ad-free.
With this new streaming platform, space exploration will be accessible to everyone, putting space on demand and at your fingertips, says Nasa.

The service will be available through NASA’s mobile apps on iOS and Android devices, as well as web browsers on desktop computers. Users can also access it through media players like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV.
Nasa says that the revamped digital presence will help the agency tell its stories and inspire people through discovery. The new platform will consolidate content from various NASA websites, making it easier to navigate and search for information.
NASA already has the beta version of the upgraded web experience out and plans to add more libraries and websites after the full launch next week.
Jeff Seaton, the Chief Information Officer at NASA’s headquarters in Washington, stated that NASA’s current online presence provides a great opportunity to enhance the user experience for the public they serve. He emphasised the importance of modernising the agency’s websites using the latest technology and improving how the public interacts with their online content. These initial steps are crucial to making NASA’s information more accessible, discoverable, and secure.
Nicky Fox, Associate Administrator of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters, explains that from researching exoplanets to gaining a better understanding of Earth‘s climate, exploring the solar system, and studying the Sun’s impact on our planet, the new websites, along with upcoming NASA+ videos, present the discovery programs in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary manner. This will help us establish stronger connections with our visitors and viewers, he added further.
