MS Dhoni was at his funny best as he did not miss the chance to make the engagement ceremony of Rishabh Pant’s sister Sakshi more special. Dhoni even spoke on the stage, congratulating Sakshi and her fiancee Ankit Chaudhary. Dhoni graced the ceremony and seemed to enjoy his time during the star-studded bash.

While congratulating the couple, Dhoni made sure he used his comic timing to good effect, leaving the guests at the ceremony in splits.

“They seem very happy. They are very excited. They danced very well. They get along very well, I would like to wish them all the very best for the challenging times ahead. I mean, from a career perspective,” Dhoni said.

MS Dhoni was seen spending time with Rishabh Pant and the latter’s mother at the event. Dhoni and Pant have shared a close bond, on and off the field. The Delhi Capitals captain welcomed the New Year with Dhoni and his family in the UAE. Pant was also seen at Dhoni’s Christmas bash last year.

Dhoni is all set to return to competitive action in IPL 2024. The former India captain led Chennai Super Kings to their 5th IPL title in 2023 after which he underwent surgery to treat a long-standing knee injury. Dhoni seems to have recovered well from the setback and looks primed to resume training in the coming months.

On the other hand, Pant is also expected to return to competitive action in the IPL 2024 season. Pant has not played competitive cricket since he suffered multiple injuries in a car crashin Decmeber 2022. The wicketkeeper-batter has slowly but steadily recovered from multiple injuries. He began low-intensity training toward the end of 2023.

Pant also attended the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai on December 19 with the rest of the Delhi Capitals team management. DC Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly had expressed confidence that Pant would be able to return to competitive action in IPL 2024.
