The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues the Aadhaar card, a 12-digit identification number, to every Indian resident. This serves as proof of identity and address nationwide. To maintain Aadhaar’s authenticity, it’s essential to keep the details updated.
The new digitally signed QR code is compatible only with UIDAI’s mAadhaar app or UIDAI-approved QR code scanning apps available on Google Play Store, Apple Store, and Windows-based platforms. You can download the Windows application from the official website ‘uidai.gov.in’.
Verification of your Aadhaar number can be done online or offline through various channels. Official options include the UIDAI website, toll-free number 1947, or visiting an Aadhaar enrolment centre. Scanning the QR code on the Aadhaar card, e-Aadhaar, or Aadhaar PVC provides quick access to biographical details, such as name, gender, date of birth, address, and photo, all accompanied by UIDAI’s digital signature.
