Karan Johar made his directorial debut with the classic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. One of the biggest plus points of the film were the characters of Rahul and Anjali, played by the film’s main leads Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, which went onto become one of the most loved pair in Hindi cinema. The filmmaker is now back as a director after almost seven years with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
After Rahul-Anjali, Rocky-Rani to be the next iconic on-screen couple brought by Karan Johar
The film brings back the pair of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt after Gully Boy. The two will be playing the roles of Rocky and Rani. The first posters of the film were released yesterday on the occasion of Karan Johar’s 51st birthday, which was yesterday.
The posters became viral in no time and the major reason behind this was Ranveer and Alia. This is enough to indicate that after Rahul and Anjali, Rocky and Rani is the new dreamy couple brought about by Johar. When the pair has created such tremendous buzz from the posters itself, one can just imagine what would happen when the trailer will be out. There is no doubt that Rocky and Rani will go down as a lovable on-screen couple in the legacy of Karan Johar’s films.
If we look back at Johar’s directorial ventures, he has always given us iconic couples in his films. For example, Rahul-Anjali, Dev-Maya (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna), Abhi-Shanaya (Student Of The Year) and the heartbreaking couple yet not a couple Ayan-Alizeh (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil). And now, it is safe to add the name of Rocky-Rani in the coveted list.
Also starring Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will be releasing in theatres on July 28.
