RRR, which has created history, by winning the prestigious Academy Award as well as The Golden Globe of the song ‘Naatu Naatu’, has remained to be a proud moment for India. Besides Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film also featured Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, among others in pivotal roles. Kapil Sharma, who recently hosted Ajay as a part of Bholaa promotions, congratulated him for the Oscar win of the S.S. Rajamouli film, to which, the Bollywood superstar had a rather interesting and quirky response.
Ajay Devgn jokes how RRR won an Oscar because of him at The Kapil Sharma Show
In the past, many of Ajay’s co-stars have revealed that the Bollywood superstar is known for his jokes and pranks on the sets of the film. Showcasing his humorous side on The Kapil Sharma Show, Ajay Devgn mentioned that he was the reason behind RRR winning the Oscars and explained the reason behind his statement to show’s host. When Kapil Sharma asked him about his opinion on RRR winning the Oscars and wondered whether Devgn felt bad that he wasn’t a part of the song, ‘Naatu Naatu’. Ajay responded to the question saying, “RRR ko Oscar jo mila hai wo meri wajah se mila hai. Agar maine us gaane mein naach dia hota to kya hota (The Oscar RRR has won is because of me. What if I had danced on that song)!”
His statement everyone, including his co-star Tabu and show’s judge Archana Puran Singh in splits. Furthermore, when Kapil quizzed whether Ajay would attempt its steps when he is alone, Devgn added, “To wo Oscar wapis le jaate (Then they would have taken back the Oscars)”. The audience roared with laughter at Ajay’s sense of humour.
Ajay Devgn starrer Bholaa, which is also directed by the superstar, is a remake of the Tamil film Kaithi, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and it featured Karthi in the lead role. Co-starring Tabu, the Hindi version is slated for a theatrical release on March 30.
