India batter Ajinkya Rahane arrived in Patna to play Ranji against Bihar. However, an injury meant the veteran batter could not participate in the match.

The Mumbai batter revealed the reason for not playing the match in Patna. Rahane said, “I have a great passion for playing, and that’s why I came to Patna. I never back down from playing. However, during a practice session, I suffered a minor injury in my neck. That’s why I am not playing this match. But I will definitely play in the upcoming Ranji matches.”

Rahane said that usually, you don’t get to see such a crowd in Ranji matches anywhere. But there was a significant crowd in Patna which shows the enthusiasm for cricket in Bihar. Rahane said that the Bihar crowd supported both teams equally. “It’s not like they were only supporting Bihar,” said Rahane.

“They are supporting the Mumbai team along with the Bihar team,” Rahane said that he is very happy to see his love for cricket in Patna for decades. Along with this, Rahane said that he has tasted delicious cuisines in Bihar in different ways. He wants to come back to Bihar and play again.

Apart from this, when Rahane was asked about the upcoming England tour, whether he wants to make a comeback in the Indian Test team during the England tour, Rahane remained silent on this question and said that he won’t say anything about it at the moment.
