Apple Visual Look-Up feature on iPhone: How to use
This feature works only with certain Apple apps which include Mail, Messages, Notes and others. In these apps, iPhone users have to tap and hold on an image and then tap on the info button. The info button is denoted by a lowercase “i” which is placed inside a circle with a sparkle. On tapping it, the feature will open the Safari browser to offer more info about the subject in the picture.
In Safari, when users tap on the “Look Up” button in the options menu, another icon starts appearing inside or below the photo. For example, the image will get a paw icon for images of pets and animals or a leaf icon for flowers and plants. Users can tap on these icons to get more information about the image’s subject and other pictures of the same from the internet and Siri Knowledge.

Users need to keep in mind that this feature will not be available for all images. If the “i” icon in a picture has a circle without a sparkle, it means that Visual Look Up is not available for that particular image.
Conclusion
The feature works like a limited version of Google Lens which is also available for iPhone users via the Google app. Google Lens offers more information like sites from where you can buy a particular product and how much is it priced across different retailers. To take on Google Lens, Apple is expected to expand Visual Look Up in the coming days. Currently, the Apple feature is limited, while Google Lens is also powered by Search and Assistant.
