Apple has launched its new Apple Pencil for iPads. The new Pencil features a dedicated USB-C port for both charging and pairing and it is also the most affordable iPad Apple Pencil.
Apple says that the new Apple Pencil USB-C boasts the same accuracy, low latency and tilt sensitivity as the Pencil 1st-generation and Pencil 2nd-generation and is ideal for note taking, sketching, annotating, journaling and everything else that users use the Apple Pencil for.
Apple Pencil USB-C: Price and availability
Apple Pencil USB-C will be available starting November at Rs 7,990. For education customers, the new Pencil will be available at Rs 6,990. Education pricing is available to current and newly accepted college students and their parents, as well as faculty, staff, and home-school teachers of all grade levels.
Apple Pencil USB-C: Compatible iPads
The new Apple Pencil will be compatible with all iPads featuring USB Type-C port. Which means, the USB-C Apple Pencil with work with iPad (10th generation), iPad Air (4th and 5th generations), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generations), and iPad mini (6th generation).
The new Apple Pencil: USB-C features
The USB-C port has been integrated at the top part of the pencil behind the sliding cover. Also, the USB-C port allows for both charging as well as pairing with the compatible iPads.
Apple has mentioned that the Apple Pencil can be charged via Type-C port and it goes to the sleep state to preserve battery when magnetically attached to the iPads.
Apple Pencil USB-C: Features
The new Apple Pencil comes with almost all the features the Pencil 1st-generation and Pencil 2nd-generation offers. Which includes similar accuracy, low latency and tilt sensitivity. Also, the new Pencil integrates well with the Apple ecosystem and supports all the apps as the other two Pencils.
The new Apple Pencil works great with iPadOS features like Scribble, Quick Note and when collaborating with others in Freeform. When paired with M2 models of iPad Pro, the new Apple Pencil supports hover, allowing users to sketch and illustrate with even better precision.
