On Wednesday, Australian allrounder Cameroon Green fractured his finger and got ruled out of the third Test in Sydney against South Africa. The incident transpired when the 23-year-old was batting on day two of the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and that is when he sustained a lethal blow on his finger from South African speedster Anrich Nortje.

“Cameron Green has a small fracture on his right index finger,” Cricket Australia said.

“He will bat again in this match but will not bowl, followed by a period of recovery leading into the tour of India (in February).

Earlier, Australia all-rounder Cameroon Green was the second-highest earner, fetching a Rs 17.5 crore bid from Mumbai Indians at the IPL 2023 mini-auction.

Australian speedster Mitchell Starc also sustained a finger injury on Monday. If he misses the rest of the Melbourne Test, the Kangaroos will rely on Pat Cummins, Scott Borland, and Nathan Lyon.
