Three people, including two Indian trainee pilots, have been killed in a plane crash in the Chilliwack city of Canada’s British Columbia province on Saturday, according to reports.
The Piper PA-34 Seneca aircraft crashed into some trees and bushes behind a motel, officials said. The Indian pilots killed in the crash came from Mumbai. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said that it was notifying the next of kin of the victims.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada said it’s sending investigators, reported CBC News. “The scene is contained and there were no other reported injuries or risks to the public in the area,” said the RCMP in a statement.
At least five ambulances and a paramedic supervisor sent by the provincial emergency health services responded to the crash.
The Piper PA-34 was built in 1972 and registered in 2019. Authorities have not released any details on what might have caused the crash.
More details are awaited
