Google has started rolling out a new update for its Chromecast with Google TV devices. The update is now rolling out to all users across the globe and users can now download and update their Chromecast with Google TV 4K.
9to5Google has reported that the update has firmware version STTE.230319.008.R1 and it has two main changes. The first thing that the update includes is the Android security patch level for April 2023. Apart from that, the update includes bug fixes and performance improvements.
Nothing else has changed with the latest update. According to the report, the update has a download size of 140MB. The report also claims that the update may also be rolling out the regular HD model of Chromecast for Google TV.
Despite being the latest update, the security patch rolling out is a month old which seems kind of odd.
How to download and update Chromecast with Google TV
The update is now available for all users across the globe. To download the update, open Settings on your Google TV and then head to System. Now select About and choose System Update.
Wait for it to look for the update. Once available, hit the download and install button to initiate the process.
