NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner entered into the record books by becoming only the third batter to complete 6000 runs in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Needing 26 runs, Warner achieved the milestone during the IPL 2023 match against Rajasthan Royals at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. He now has 6039 runs under his belt in 165 games.
Former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli leads the chart with 6727 runs from 225 matches followed by Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan (6370 runs in 208 matches).

Warner waged a lone battle in a huge 200-run chase against Royals with a 65-run knock. His 55-ball stay at the crease ended when Yuzvendra Chahal trapped him in front of the wicket.
DC’ agonising wait to open their account in the tournament continued as they suffered their third successive loss. They lost the match by 57 runs after being restricted to 142/9 by the Royals.
Sent in to bat, RR scored 199 for four as young Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler gave a blazing start by putting on 98 runs for the first wicket in just 8.3 overs.
While Jaiswal slammed 60 off 31 balls, the seasoned Buttler struck 79 in 51 deliveries. Later, Shimron Hetmyer blasted a 21-ball 39 not out.
