Electra Stumps are equipped with lights that illuminate in various colors to signal different events during a match. Former England captain Michael Vaughan and ex-Australia batter Mark Waugh were present to unveil these innovative stumps, highlighting their potential to attract more fans and inform them about the ongoing action.

This visual cue system is simple yet effective: when a batter is dismissed, the stumps flash red, creating a dramatic spectacle. For boundaries, such as fours and sixes, the stumps dazzle with alternating colors and upward-moving lights, respectively, celebrating these thrilling moments with fans. No-balls trigger a red and white scrolling light, providing immediate feedback on umpire decisions.

Even the intervals between overs are marked by a pulsating scroll of purple and blue lights, ensuring that the energy of the game never dips.

The introduction of Electra Stumps was first witnessed during a match between the Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers, marking a significant moment in BBL history. The stumps were previously used in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), but their debut in the men’s competition has been met with great enthusiasm.
