In a shocking turn of events, Glenn Maxwell will miss the ICC Menโs ODI World Cup 2023 match against England in Ahmedabad due to a concussion he sustained in an incident related to golf on Monday. Maxwell was involved in a golf cart mishap while holding onto the back of the cart during his return from the clubhouse to the team bus on a scheduled day off. He is expected to follow concussion protocols for a period of six to eight days.
“He’s (Maxwell) been honest with the information he’s provided. He’s doing fine. He’ll start some light exercises today and we feel as though it will be a reasonably straightforward return-to-play protocol. I suppose the fortunate part was there was no other injury sustained which could have been a lot worse than it currently is,” Head coach Andrew McDonald stated as per an official release.
Glenn Maxwell won’t play against England after falling off a golf cart.

Last year, Maxwell suffered a severe leg injury during a slip at a friend’s birthday party, sidelining him for nearly five months. McDonald remarked, “The last 12 months, Glenn’s been up and down in terms of his recovery and it was a horrific injury that took place, but he’s been really good since he got here.”
With Maxwell unavailable, Australia will have to find a replacement for a key middle-order player in the game against England. Either Marcus Stoinis or Cameron Green could come into the side with Marnus Labuschagne expected to retain his place in the starting lineup.
This is a Developing story. More Details will be added…
