India vs Australia: Who will be declared the winner if IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023 match ends in a draw?
If India vs Australia World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 match ends in a draw, then not just one team, but both the teams will be declared joint-winners. This means, the trophy will be shared between both the teams. According to the ICC rules, both the teams will be declared joint-winners if there is a draw.
Reserve day for IND vs AUS WTC Final: ICC kept a reserve day (June 12) in case of a possible rain interruption in the five-day final. The Reserve day (6th day) will only be used if there is a rain interruption but if the match goes on smoothly for five days without any rain interruption, and it ends in a draw, the reserve day won’t be used.
In case there is a rain interruption, reserve day comes into play. If the match ends in a draw even after the Reserve day is used, then the trophy will be shared between the two finalists, India and Australia. It won’t matter which team sits on top of the points table and hence both India and Australia will be declared joint-winners.
