Google has already confirmed that it will launch its first foldable smartphone — Pixel Fold at its annual developer conference Google I/O 2023. Now it appears that another smartphone maker is all set to join the list of foldables.
Earlier this year, Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus confirmed that it will launch its first foldable smartphone in the second half of 2023. Now a new leak about the upcoming smartphone has surfaced online revealing its likely launch timeline. Popular tipster Max Jambor has revealed that OnePlus may launch its first foldable smartphone in August this year. Apart from this, the tipster has not revealed any other information about the upcoming OnePlus smartphone.

OnePlus has not disclosed any details about the design of its upcoming foldable smartphone. However, according to media reports, it may not resemble the Oppo Find N2, which recently hit global markets and features a flip form factor. Instead, OnePlus may opt for a foldable design language.
Given OnePlus’ intention to compete in the flagship market, a foldable form factor would be a logical choice for its upcoming device.
Google Pixel Fold is coming soon
Meanwhile, Google recently confirmed the launch of its first foldable smartphone. Google has announced that it is launching Pixel Fold, its first foldable smartphone, at its annual Google I/O event. Although Google has not revealed any information about the smartphone’s specifications, the teaser video showcases the Pixel Fold’s book-like design, similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Fold series and the recently-launched Tecno Phantom V 5G.
The Pixel Fold features a triple rear camera setup that follows the design language of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series of smartphones, but it does not have an edge-to-edge visor like the most recent generation of Pixel phones.
