IND vs WI 3rd ODI: Team India’s three in-form players Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal were rested for the second ODI match between India and West Indies on Saturday (July 29) as the Indian team management wanted to try out the ‘bench strength’, find right batting combinations with very less time left for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Despite being not involved in any action, the star trio were in good spirits, having fun off-the-field and their antics are viral on social media.

West Indies defeated India by 6 wickets to win the 2nd ODI, level three-match ODI series 1-1. The third and final ODI between India and West Indies will be played on Tuesday (August 1), 7:00 PM IST onwards. After the ODI series gets over, India will play a five-match T20I series against the hosts, starting from Thursday (August 3) onwards.

Senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested as India wanted to give their inexperienced middle order batters a chance to showcase their ability ahead of ODI World Cup 2023. Senior middle order batters KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are on the road to recovery and aren’t available for the marquee event. India is yet to find the perfect batting choices for number four and number five spots in their lineup.
