Karisma Kapoor recently attended the popular music reality show on Sony TV, Indian Idol and was seen sharing the judges panel with the popular names from the Bollywood music industry Kumar Sanu, Shreya Ghoshal, and Vishal Dadlani. The episode in question was expected to pay tribute to the Kapoor family for their immense contribution in Indian Cinema and hence, Karisma was invited as one of their guest judges. While every performance seems to win the heart of the Zubeidaa actress, it seems one contestant’s singing left her extremely emotional, as she fondly remembered her grandfather, the late Raj Kapoor.

For the unversed, the Kapoor family has been in the film business for decades and many of their family members continue to be an integral part of the industry. Karisma Kapoor, who seen talking about her family and family members, as contestants were seen singing some of their biggest chartbusters, one of them decided to pay homage to the legendary Raj Kapoor. The contestant started singing the song ‘Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan’ a bitter-sweet song  which continues to tell us about the realities of life and it was a part of the film Mera Naam Joker. Dressed like Raj Kapoor as the latter featured in the song in the costume of a clown, the beautiful rendition left Karisma teary-eyed.

In the promo, the actress is seen getting overwhelmed as she says, “Ye gaane ke jo shabd hain (the lyrics of this song) is what we are. Jo bhi hum hain aaj (Whatever we are today) is thanks to this great man.” Along with her even Shreya Ghoshal is seen getting emotional.

Speaking of Karisma Kapoor, the actress has hardly been making appearances in films. After the web-series Mentalhood, she will now feature in Murder Mubarak, which also stars Sara Ali Khan.
