Danni Wyatt has put the Women’s Premier League (WPL) teams on notice with her blazing knock of 75 in the first match of the T20I series between India and England.
Wyatt surprisingly had no takers during the first edition of the WPL as she went unsold and the England opener seemed to be on a mission to make a big statement.
In the first T20I match between England and India’s women’s teams, England put up a formidable total, thanks in large part to the efforts of Nat Sciver-Brunt and Danni Wyatt. The match began with a rocky start for England as they lost two early wickets in the very first over bowled by Renuka Singh Thakur, leaving them at a precarious 2 for 2.
However, the innings took a dramatic turn as Nat Sciver-Brunt and Danni Wyatt came together at the crease and stitched together a stunning partnership. Sciver-Brunt showcased her class with a powerful knock of 77 runs from 53 balls, an innings that was marked by her superior strike rate against pace bowling. Her performance was a testament to her ability to dominate the game, particularly in the face of India’s varied bowling attack.
