It is further speculated that instead of physically moving, the buttons would provide haptic feedback from two additional Taptic Engines inside the iPhone to simulate the feeling of movement. This will be similar to the one in MacBook’s Force Touch trackpad.
As per the leaker, the change for this year may come only in the iPhone 15 series Pro models. The base models may not see the design change. Earlier this month, ShrimpApplePro also claimed that this year Apple will bring Dynamic Island feature and a slightly curved bezel to all iPhones. This means that all the models in iPhone 15 series will have the Dynamic Island feature.
Apple iPhone 15 series rumour round up
Reports also suggest that iPhone 15 series may be the first iPhone models to come with USB type-C charging instead of Lightning port-based charging. The sizes of the upcoming iPhone 15 series’ models are likely to be the same as the current-generation models — 6.1 inch and 6.7 inch. Like last year, there are speculations about the phones sporting Periscope zoom lenses this year too.
It also remains to be seen if Apple will give the 48MP camera upgrade to all models this year or not. Only the ‘Pro’ models in iPhone 14 series come with 48MP camera, the other two models have largely the same camera as base models of iPhone 13 series. Also, the standard models may also get the upgrade to the A16 chip that powers the iPhone 14 Pro models. Apple iPhone 15 Pro models may run on the faster and more efficient 3-nanometer A17 chips.
