A total of 11 match officials will be on duty during the inaugural edition of Major League Cricket T20 tournament, beginning July 13 in the US.
America’s first professional franchise-based T20 league, which will see 19 matches played across 18 days at two venues in North Texas and North Carolina, will have the services of three umpires who are currently among the ICC International Panel of umpires.
Wayne Knights, Paul Wilson and Ruchira Palliyaguru are from the ICC Elite Panel, joined by the quartet of Americans Jermaine Lindo, Rushane Samuels, Vijaya Prakash Mallela and Billy Taylor.The role of Match Referee has been assigned to the renowned former umpire Simon Taufel, alongside Reon King. On job as fourth umpire during the whole tournament will be Owen Brown and Colin Edwards.
The six-team tournament includes four franchises that are either owned or co-owned by team owners from the Indian Premier League.

The opening game will see Texas Super Kings taking on Los Angeles Knight Riders at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.
