Former England captain Michael Vaughan is known for his explosive comments on cricket in general and England cricket in particular. While he is associated as an expert on various news and media shows, he is also an active user of social media which he uses to share his thoughts on the game. Vaughan intially rated the pitch being used for India vs England 4th Test as “a shocker” but when England recovered to post a solid total in the first innings, he retracted his statement.
On Day 1 of the ongoing India vs England Test in Ranchi, former England captain Michael Vaughan had called the Ranchi pitch a “shocker”.
“The old saying .. Do not judge a pitch till both teams have batted and bowled on it .. but let’s be honest .. this one looks a shocker ..#INDvsENG” he posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. However, as soon as Joe Root’s hundred led England’s recovery, he made a U-turn on his earlier statement. “The pitch is clearly no longer a shocker .. #INDvsENG,” he then wrote.
Vaughan’s contrasting posts made within a span of hours have gone viral on social media.
