NEW DELHI: Cricket’s ardent fans got a pleasant surprise when a viral picture of three Indian greats — MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and Rohit Sharma — together in one frame broke the internet on Friday.
The moment this iconic picture surfaced on social media, the internet was abuzz with speculation. However, based on its appearance, the image most likely depicts an advertising shoot in a restaurant.
IPL 2024: POINTS TABLE | ORANGE CAP | PURPLE CAP
These kinds of ad shoots are quite common to maintain the glam quotient of the glitzy Indian Premier League (IPL) away from the on-field action.

Dhoni, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter and former CSK captain, made the decision to step down from the captaincy role just a day before the start of the IPL 2024 season, passing the baton to the young opening batter, Ruturaj Gaikwad, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the team.
On the other hand, Hardik Pandya took Rohit’s place as captain after the Mumbai Indians acquired the all-rounder in an all-cash deal with the Gujarat Titans last year. Rohit led MI to five IPL titles.
While the legendary Tendulkar, who is enjoying his retired life, is currently working with the MI team in the ongoing IPL as a mentor.
Earlier, Indian captain Rohit reiterated his dedication to the sport and his aspiration to secure a World Cup victory for India.
Addressing questions about his future in cricket in a recent interaction on a special edition of Breakfast with Champions alongside renowned musician Ed Sheeran and host Gaurav Kapur, Rohit dismissed retirement plans.
“I haven’t really thought about retirement. But, I don’t know where life takes you. I am still playing well at this point in time – so I am thinking I am going to continue for a few more years and then, I don’t know,” Rohit said.
“I really want to win the World Cup and there is a WTC final in 2025, hopefully India makes it,” Rohit remarked, underscoring his commitment to achieving significant milestones in international cricket.
