“I think we were 40-50 runs short. But after a few early wicket loss, we played well. Janith Liyanage batted really well after we lost a couple of wickets in the middle overs. Lahiru Kumara was very good with the new ball. He got a few wickets in the start. Results may not go in our favour but we are happy with the efforts,” said Kusal Mendis, Sri Lankan captain, in the post-match presentation ceremony.
“I am feeling very happy to contribute to the team. At first, I felt a little nervous, but once I started playing some shots, I just kept hitting and making good connections. Mushi bhai told me to go for the shots if the ball was in my slot,” said Rishad Hossain, who was awarded th man of the match for his impeccable performance which led Bnagladesh to a 4 wicket win over Sri Lanka.
“Yes, the way Tamim started was great. Mushi batted well and then Rishad batted great out there. Our bowlers bowled really well. On this pitch so really happy with our bowlers. Rishad and all. Yes, looking forward to the Test series against Sri Lanka. We won a Test against New Zealand and now it will be important how we do against Sri Lanka. Let’s hope for the best,” said Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh’s captain and man of the series.
