New Zealand Vs Pakistan T20I Series: New Zealand have announced their squad for the upcoming T20I series at home against Pakistan, starting January 12. The announcement was officially made on their social media handle on Wednesday, January 3. The series against Pakistan will be a curtain raiser of the 2024 cricketing action for the Black Caps.

New Zealand are coming off a rough end to their white-ball campaign as they were humiliated in the ODI series, which they won though, as Bangladesh had bundled them out for meagre 98 in the third One-Day International played at the McLean Park in Napier. Bnagladesh went on to win the match comfortably with 9 wickets in hand. Not only the ODI series, but the Black Caps added more salt on their wounds as they narrowly managed to level the T20I series 1-1.

Bangladesh won the first T20I at the very same venue they won the third ODI as they saw off a dismal New Zealand by 5 wickets and with the second T20I abandoned due to rain, the Kiwis were on the verge of a series defeat at the hands of Bangladesh at home. The third T20I saw New Zealand won on the D/L method and prevailed and avoided a home-series defeat embarresment.

Pakistan will be coming from Australia after finishing their three-match Test series which they have already lost and are playing for pride and to avoid a whitewash keeping in mind the World Test Championship points.

New Zealand will play a five-match T20I series at home against Pakistan and this is the following schedule:

  • 1st T20I: To be played at the Eden Park, Auckland on January 12
  • 2nd T20I: To be played at the Seddon Park, Hamilton on January 14
  • 3rd T20I: To be played at the University of Otago Oval, Dunedin on January 17
  • 4th T20I: To be played at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch on January 19
  • 5th T20I: To be played at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch on January 21
