Three years later, after launching its first phone, Carl Pei’s upstart, Nothing, is back with its third phone – the Phone (2a). It has all the things one could expect from a Nothing Phone – transparent back, lights, and symmetry – but a little toned down. The Phone (2a) packs in Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC, 120Hz AMOLED, and 50MP cameras, among other features. Here’s all you need to know about the Nothing Phone (2a).

Nothing Phone (2a): Price, availability in India

The Phone (2a) starts at Rs 23,999 for the 8GB+128GB storage variant.The 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB variants are priced at Rs 25,999 and Rs 27,999, respectively.

Nothing Phone (2a): Specifications, features, and more

The Phone (2a) features a 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The AMOLED panel has a 1080×2412 (FHD+) resolution, 30-120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 10-bit colour depth. The display can go up to 1300 nits of brightness and is rated at 700 nits of typical brightness. Under the sunlight, the panel goes up to 1100 nits. The phone has a dual stereo speaker setup and has two HD microphones.
Cutting the corners, the Phone (2a) is built out of plastic – so the transparent outer shell you see at the back is of plastic and even the side-frame, which is recycled from the previous Nothing products. The phone comes in two colours – White and Black.
On to the Glyph interface, the Phone (2a) has three LED strips at the top portion, consisting of 24 addressable zones. The Phone (2a) comes with 10 new ringtone and alert sounds and supports features like Essential Notifications, Volume Indicator, Glyph Torch, Music Visualisation, and more. One can also customise the Glyph interface with the Glyph Composer.
Powering the Phone (2a) is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro, a custom-made chipset for this phone in collaboration with Nothing and MediaTek. The chipset comes paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The Phone (2a) runs Android 14-based NothingOS 2.5 out-of-the-box.
Turn the phone around, and there are two cameras located in the top centre of the phone, departing from the old design of previous two Nothing Phone (s). The dual-camera setup consists of a 50MP f/1.8 sensor, which is optically and electronically stabilised, and another 50MP sensor paired with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens with a 114-degree of FoV. The camera setup can shoot videos at up to 4K 30fps. On the front, there is a 32MP sensor etched inside the centred punch-hole cutout.
