OnePlus’ next flagship smartphone, OnePlus 12 is confirmed to launch with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Now, the company has confirmed that its upcoming flagship smartphone will feature an upgraded camera.
OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 12 will come with Sony’s LYTIA sensor, a pixel-stacked sensor, which promises improved picture quality.
Sony has developed a new stacked CMOS sensor that uses 2-layer transistor pixel technology. This technology consists of separate layers for the transistor and photodiode layers, which allows for larger photodiodes and better light capture.
The company has collaborated with Sony to incorporate the Sony LYT-T808 LYTIA image sensor, equipped with dual-layer transistor pixel technology, into the OnePlus Open foldable phone. As per the leak by Digital Chat Station, the upcoming OnePlus 12 will also feature the same LYT-T808 sensor but with a higher resolution of 50MP as compared to the 48MP in the OnePlus Open.
Oppo and Vivo, both of which are owned by BBK, have partnered with Sony’s Lytia and are expected to use the same dual-layer stacked sensors in their upcoming Find X6 and Vivo X100 smartphones for their primary cameras.

The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The chipset has the Kryo CPU, with five gold cores and a new 1-5-2 microarchitecture, offers 30% better performance and 20% power efficiency.
