Realme has expanded its mid-range smartphone portfolio in India with two new models. The latest Realme 12 5G series includes two phones — the vanilla Realme 12 5G and the more expensive Realme 12+ 5G. Starting at Rs 20,999, the Realme 12+ 5G becomes the first phone in this price segment to feature the Sony LYT-600 OIS-enabled sensor. Apart from this, the latest smartphone sports an AMOLED display with rain water smart touch functionality, a MediaTek chipset, 67W fast charging, IP54 rating and runs on Android 14.
Earlier this week, Carl Pei-led London-based brand Nothing also launched its first ever mid-range smartphone. This smartphone was showcased in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event which was held in Barcelona, Spain in February. Priced at Rs 23,999, this smartphone also features a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 4nm-based chipset, 32MP selfie camera, 45W fast charging and Glyph Interface with 15 functions. The Nothing Phone 2a is Rs 3,000 more expensive than the Realme 12+ 5G. However, both phones offer almost similar display sizes and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Nothing Phone (2a) features a more powerful chipset and is available with higher RAM options.
Apart from this, the Realme 12+ 5G has a macro camera, while Nothing Phone (2a) has an ultrawide camera. The latter’s front camera clicks selfies in a higher resolution while the former offers a faster wired charging.
Nothing Phone (2a) has a unique transparent back with a light-up Glyph interface while the Realme 12+ 5G comes with a leather back panel and luxury watch-inspired design.
