Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, has yet again found a way to lead from the front. While he had grabbed headlines for his statement on the importance of players to give importance to domestic players, the senior India cricketer was spotted in the Mumbai dressing room as his domestic side Mumbai took on Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rohit, however, could not feature in the Ranji Trophy final himself with India’s fifth Test match finishing less than 24 hours before the start of the summit clash of the premier first-class cricket competition.
Rohit’s gesture is being appreciated by fans and commentators like. While a user on social media pointed out how Rohit “walked the talk” by turning up for Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy final himself, the commentators reportedly said: “Rohit Sharma came here to support Domestic matches, the presence of legends like Rohit Sharma will give an extra boost to the players to perform.”

Mumbai On Top In Ranji Trophy Final Vs Vidarbha
Meanwhile, Mumbai are in the driver’s seat in the Ranji Trophy Final against Vidarbha. While they scored 224 in the first innings they then managed to bowl out Vidarbha for 105 before going past the 400-run mark in their second innings to take a lead of over 500 runs. Shardul Thakur with the bat in the first innings, Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian and Dhawan Kulkarni with the ball coupled with Musheer Khan’s record-breaking hundred and half-centuries from Indian batters who are currently out of Indian Test reckoning in Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer have been the star performers with the bat so far.
