Both displays support a 1-120Hz refresh rate, providing smooth and responsive interactions. The S24 Ultra boasts a higher maximum brightness of 2600 nits compared to the S23 Ultra’s 1750 nits. The Galaxy S24 Ultra uses Corning’s Gorilla Glass Armor, which is more scratch-resistant and also has reduced reflection.

Under the hood, the S24 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset clocked at 3.4GHz, while the S23 Ultra houses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 clocked at 3.36GHz. With the new chipset on board, the Galaxy S24 Ultra offers improved efficiency and performance gains, and also brings on-device AI processing capabilities. The two come in the same memory trims, having 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The battery specifications are identical, featuring a 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and Qi wireless charging for both models.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra runs OneUI 6.1 on top of Android 14, which is the biggest upgrade of all. The latest iteration of OneUI comes with a suite of AI-powered features known as Galaxy AI. The phone’s AI features are processed on the device by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chipset, ensuring privacy. It runs on Google’s Gemini foundational models and introduces new editing tools for text, images, and video tools.
Galaxy AI offers several features to make your life easier. Live Translate supports real-time two-way translations during phone calls. The interpreter offers split-screen translations for in-person conversations and generates transcripts. Chat Assist helps with conversational tone, while Note Assist organises notes. Galaxy AI also provides photo editing tools, including Edit Suggestion, Generative Edit, and Instant Slow-mo.
It’s not like these AI tools will be exclusive to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Okay, for a while, they will be, but they will soon be coming to Galaxy S23 Ultra and the other two Galaxy S23 models, as well as last year’s foldables.
Another significant change coming to the Galaxy S24 Ultra is seven years of Android updates and security updates. Until now, Samsung’s flagships have had four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with an upgraded 200MP sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a new 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, and 100x Space Zoom. The S24 Ultra’s camera system is quite similar to the S23 Ultra’s, but it comes with improved aperture size and autofocus technology, which could improve low-light performance. On the front, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 12MP camera, the same as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
