Samsung has announced the launch date of its next-generation flagship smartphone series, Galaxy S23.. The company has scheduled its Galaxy Unpacked event for February 1, 2023.
Samsung is expected to unveil three new phones at the event – Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra at the event. Of these, Galaxy S23 Ultra will be the most premium device, expected to come with some major improvements over its predecessor.

Galaxy Unpacked back as an offline event
The Galaxy Unpacked event will be back as an in-person event this year after a gap of two years. The event, scheduled to be held in San Francisco, will begin at 11:30 PM IST. Galaxy Unpacked will be live streamed worldwide.
Last week, Samsung’s local website for Colombia accidentally shared the teaser for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, confirming the scheduled date of February 1, days before the official confirmation. The tagline for the event read, “Epic moments are coming.”
Similar to the teaser shared by Samsung, the image on the Colombian website shows the three rear cameras of the Galaxy S23 series having individual rings, similar to what is rumored.
Samsung Galaxy S23 series: What to expect
One of the major improvements this year would be Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. If rumours are to be believed, all three models of the upcoming Galaxy S23 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Moreover, there would not be Exynos-powered models this year. Further, the Galaxy S23 series would come with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
The biggest of all, Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to get a huge camera upgrade with a new 200MP main camera. Furthermore, it will have a 12MP ultrawide, a 10MP 3x telephoto, and a 10MP telephoto with 10x optical zoom.
The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ would come with a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP 3x telephoto camera.
All three phones are expected to feature a 12MP selfie camera with OIS and autofocus.
