India will also be looking to kick-start their World Test Championship cycle off to a positive start. In the last two cycles of the WTC, India has been the most consistent side, reaching the final on both occasions.

As for South Africa, Dean Elgar had announced that he would be retiring from international cricket following the Test series against India. They will be led by Temba Bavuma, who will also be playing for the first time since the ODI World Cup.
