Techo took the smartphone market by storm with its book-style foldable – Phantom V Fold 5G smartphone. Now, the company is reportedly planning to do the same with the clamshell foldable segment with its next foldable smartphone. Android Headlines has reported that the company is working on clamshell foldable smartphone.

The design and specification of the handset has surfaced online and if the leaks are considered true, then this is what the rumoured foldable smartphone from Tecno may look like
Tecno clamshell foldable design

Tecno’s clamshell foldable is likely to to be named as Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G and the design leak reveals the phone from all sides.
Starting with the display, the phone will have a regular foldable display with a centre punch hole that we see in regular phones. The differentiating factor, however, is the back design or let’s say the cover screen and rear camera design. The main display is expected to be 6.9-inch and the cover display is 1.32-inch.
Instead of going with a traditional stacked camera design, Tecno has decided to go with a massive circular design that’ll integrate a circular cover display (smartwatch-like) at the front and the camera lenses will surround that.
While the design looks sticking, we think it may make the phone a little uncomfortable to fold.

From the side, the phone appears to feature a power/lock key at the right side with a fingerprint scanner. Apart from that the volume rockers will also be placed on the right side of the phone.
The handset is expected to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It is also expected that the handset will launch with Android 13 operating system.
In terms of camera, the handset is speculated to feature a 64-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel second camera.
