NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli presented a bat to Kolkata Knight Riders rising talent Rinku Singh following RCB‘s recent loss to KKR at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
KKR shared a delightful snapshot of the exchange on their official social media handle, captioning it, “The bond we love to see! : @RCBTweets.”

Expressing gratitude for the thoughtful gift, Rinku Singh took to Instagram to thank Virat Kohli for both the bat and the advice.
Virat Kohli, a stalwart of the game, holds the distinction of being the IPL‘s all-time leading run-scorer, amassing 7,444 runs in 240 matches, inclusive of seven centuries and 52 half-centuries.
While Virat has tasted success at the international level, winning prestigious tournaments like the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013, an IPL trophy has remained elusive for his RCB side.

Rinku Singh, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, has emerged as a domestic cricket sensation. His remarkable performance last year, wherein he smashed Gujarat Titans’ Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes in the final over to secure a thrilling 200-plus run chase, catapulted him into the limelight.
The 2023 IPL season marked a breakthrough for Rinku Singh, with notable contributions of 474 runs in 14 matches at an impressive average of 59.25 and a striking strike rate of nearly 150. Despite a slow start in the ongoing season, Rinku’s IPL career statistics stand at 753 runs in 33 matches, featuring four half-centuries.

Rinku’s stellar IPL performances have translated into commendable outings for India, where he has accumulated 356 runs in 15 matches at a remarkable average of 89.00 and an impressive strike rate exceeding 176, with two fifties to his credit. Additionally, his robust first-class record for Uttar Pradesh further solidifies his potential as India’s next multi-format star, alongside prominent talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.
