In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, former India skipper Virat Kohli has scripted history by becoming the fastest player to score 25,000 runs in International cricket. He becomes only the sixth player to record this feat as he is standing behind Jacques Kallis (25534), Mahela Jayawardene (25937), Ricky Ponting (27483), Kumar Sangakkara (28016), and leader Sachin Tendulkar (34357).

With 1,682 runs in 36 innings, Virat Kohli is currently the seventh-highest run-scorer in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Ahead of him are Sachin Tendulkar (3,262 runs), Ricky Ponting (2,555 runs), VVS Laxman (2,434 runs), Dravid (2,143 runs), Michael Clarke (2,049 runs), and Cheteshwar Pujara (1,893 runs).

Talking about the match, Ravindra Jadeja’s career-best Test figures helped India outplay Australia by six wickets and took a 2-0 lead in the four-match series on Sunday. Jadeja scalped 7-42 as he and Ravichandran Ashwin (3-59) restricted Australia to just 113 in their second innings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Australian batters were clueless and did not find a way to tackle the Indian spinners.
