The Indian team locked horns with Pakistan in the ongoing World Cup 2023 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Rohit Sharma’s led team defeated Pakistan by seven wickets. The Indian team bundled out Babar Azam’s team to just  191 runs in 42.5 overs and then easily chased down the total in just 30.3 overs for the loss of three wickets.

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma starred with the bat by hitting 86 runs from 63 balls, while Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 53 runs. Iyer smashed three fours and two sixes during his 62-ball stay at the crease at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.  Post the Indian team registered their eighth win in ODI World Cup matches against Pakistan, India’s fielding coach T Dilip lauded the right-handed batter for his impeccable batting and also credited Ravindra Jadeja for his top-class fielding against Pakistan. India’s fielding coach also praised KL Rahul for his extraordinary wicketkeeping performance in the high-octane match.

Dilip then declared Rahul as the third winner of the best fielder medal for India in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Once he announced Rahul’s name, Virat Kohli came up with a hilarious reaction. The video of the same went viral where Kohli alongside Shubman Gill was in shock and came up with a funny reaction.

Earlier, in the game against Pakistan, Rahul grabbed a brilliant catch off  Imam-ul-Haq, diving to his left side.

Talking about Rahul’s performance, Dilip said, “One skill generally which really gets ignored, I think is wicketkeeping. We expect to do the job, but some of the things we spoke about coming to the wicket, coming to the stumps to collect those throws. Doing the leg side stump and catches. I think overall KL was fantastic. Well done.”
