India’s run machine Virat Kohli posted an iconic image from India vs Pakistan clash in the T20 World Cup last year while looking back on his 15-year-long journey in international cricket. The 34-year-old former India skipper smashed unbeaten 82 runs and helped India pull off the game by 4 wickets. The Delhi-based batter was thankful to the fans as he posted a classic two-word post. Virat celebrated 15 years in international cricket by saying that he is grateful for all the things he achieved in his stellar career.

“Forever grateful,” wrote Kohli.

The last time when India met Pakistan, the Men in Blue struggled a bit initially but then Kohli’s outstanding knock outplayed Pakistan. Kohli took just 52 balls and chased down a total of 160 runs alongside Hardik Pandya.

15 years back, on this day, Virat started playing for India as he made his debut in an ODI clash against Sri Lanka. Though he did not have a great outing as he departed after scoring only 12 runs. Talking about his records so far, in the red ball format after making his debut in 2011, he made 8,676 runs in 111 games for India with the help of 29 centuries, 29 fifties at an average of 49.29, and a best score of 254*. In 275 ODIs, Kohli collected 12,898 runs with the help of 46 centuries, 65 half-centuries at an average of 57.32 with a best score of 183.

Kohli is also a useful batter in the shortest format of the game where he has amassed  4,008 runs with the help of a century and 37 half-centuries in  115 T20Is at an average of 52.73 and a strike rate of 137.96. On the back of his impeccable stats, he is a part of the modern-day Fab-Four along with England’s Joe Root, Australia’s Steve Smith, and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson.  The legendary batter is preparing for the upcoming Asia Cup since he has been rested for the Ireland tour.
