Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Ben Stokes-led England put up a total of 353 runs in their first innings, powered by a brilliant century from Joe Root.
In reply, India, buoyed by excellent half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel, reached a total of 307. England faltered in their second innings, collapsing for mere 145 runs. Consequently, India was set a target of 192 runs for the win, which they chased down in 60.6 overs on day 4 of IND vs ENG Ranchi Test, with five wickets remaining.
