While India’s Chess Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand has a very serious and studious public image, the video of the 54-year-old singing alongside musician Sting at a concert in Mumbai has taken the internet by storm. Fans are plesantly surprised to see Anand being a fanboy and not shying away from enjoying the music, just like most other music lovers would do at a concert.
The video was shared by Anand himself on his social media account. “When I was very young, songs like “Every Breath You Take” and “Roxanne” by The Police made a huge impression on me. Fast forward to now, and I can say I know most of their songs and Sting’s solo albums as well. They’ve been a constant on my playlist over the years,” he wrote along with the videos and a picture that he shared.
“It was nice to catch Sting live in Mumbai, and it was a delight! What’s on your playlist that keeps you inspired?” he added in another post on the thread on X (formerly Twitter).
