NEW DELHI: Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who picked up a knee injury during Gujarat Titans‘ opening game against Chennai Super Kings on March 31 during IPL 2023, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, is gearing up for an international comeback.
Williamson is set to miss the 2023 ODI World Cup in India after scans revealed that he had ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament on his right knee and needed a surgery.
Recovering enough from his injury, Williamson joined the New Zealand team training camp at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
In a video posted by Cricket New Zealand, Williamson can be seen batting in the nets, doing some catching practice and a couple of fitness exercises, while talking about his return to cricket.
The video also has New Zealand head coach Gary Stead providing an update on Williamson’s comeback.
