NEW DELHI: There’s nothing like getting off to a winning start in a tournament. And Kolkata Knight Riders did just that by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2024 season opener at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.
Following the win, KKR team co-owner and superstar Shah Rukh Khan visited the team dressing room.

The video starts with KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar talking about the team’s performance in the match, with SRK quietly standing in the background.

SRK steps up when requested by Nayar and the superstar starts with saying, “All the best, congratulations and God bless you all. Be healthy, keep playing as well as you do. The knights were looking down the barrel against Sunrisers Hyderabad, having lost four wickets inside eight overs, but Andre Russell‘s power hitting saw them end up at 208/7. The West Indies all-rounder hit seven sixes and three fours in his 25-ball unbeaten 64.
However, the match could have gone either way as Heinrich Klaasen broke loose with a counter-attacking fifty. But pacer Harshit Rana did well to pick up two wickets in defending 12 runs in the last over.
