Now, a tipster named Smart Pikachu has shared a post on Chinese social media site Weibo claiming that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra variant may also offer satellite connectivity. Unlike the Oppo Find X7 series Xiaomi’s 14 Ultra won’t have two different versions. However, smartphones from both brands will compete against each other. The post also confirms that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will support two-way satellite communication. The smartphone will succeed last year’s Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra specs: What to expect
Xiaomi 14 Ultra will join the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphones that were launched in China in October 2023. Last week, another Weibo tipster named Digital Chat Station (DCS) shared a post claiming that Xiaomi 14 Ultra has been listed on the China Compulsory Certification (3C) website with the model number 2402CPS69C. In 2023, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone was launched with a camera accessory kit that included accessories like a camera grip and a protective case and was exclusive to the Chinese market.
The tipster also claimed that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is also expected to arrive with a designated camera kit that may also work as an external battery.
Rumours suggest that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra may sport a curved 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is likely to come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication.
For photography, the smartphone is expected to house a quad rear camera setup that may include a 50MP Sony LYT900 primary sensor and three other 50MP units. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra may also feature a 5,180mAh battery with 90W wired charging support and 50W wireless charging support.
