HyperOS delivers significant performance improvements over MIUI by leveraging Open Source Xiaomi Vela optimizations. It provides up to 14% faster response times, 17% faster message delivery, and 16% quicker task switching. The improved load evaluation analyses thread relationships accurately for precise CPU assessments. Critical task scheduling latency is reduced by 14% on average and 72% on maximum.
Personalisation
The HyperOS has a redesigned UI with personalization options, new widgets, and system icons. It enables features like drag-and-drop file transfer between mobile and tablet, a shared clipboard for easy copy-paste between devices, and direct photo insertion from phone to tablet.
The new OS has an Alive Design Philosophy for increased personalization. This includes a redesigned lock screen, Control Center, system font MiSans with support for over 600 languages, and more.
Seamless connectivity
HyperOS introduces Xiaomi Smart Hub to integrate and control devices for intelligent connectivity, providing real-time status updates. It also leverages Xiaomi’s IoT platform to connect devices via Xiaomi HyperMind based on usage habits. End-to-end encryption is implemented for security.
Rollout timeline
The update has already been released for several Xiaomi and Redmi phones like Mi 11 Ultra and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. It will be rolled out to over 20 more devices by Q2 2024, including Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 series.
