Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has reposted an image of a ‘specially-abled’ delivery agent on social media platform X (previously Twitter). The delivery agent’s uniquely modified wheelchair which works a bike has caught the attention of the internet. The post was first shared by X user Naraayan Kannan that showed the smiling delivery agent seated on the uniquely modified wheelchair-bike while navigating his daily routes on his vehicle.

The user who shared the image praised the sight as the “best thing” that they have seen in a long time in the caption of the post. The caption also highlights the delivery agent’s fascinating story and calls out Zomato and the company’s CEO for more inclusivity.
The caption reads: “Dear @zomato and @deepigoyal. More of this please. Best thing I’ve seen in a very long time from your company. Despite the errant drivers who have made life hell on the roads, this is a special moment. This is as inclusive as it gets. His story is fascinating. Bravo!”

Goyal retweeted the image after it caught his eye. Commenting on the post, another user wrote: “It indeed is a delight to watch this picture. The concept is absolutely brilliant, empowering & positive. Make sure to give this the care & respect it demands. Make it more & more possible Sir. I am proud of you for this.”

Zomato’s specially-abled delivery agents

In August 2023, Goyal announced that Zomato partnered with a medical equipment manufacturer NeoMotion. This company creates mobility products for people with special abilities.
Goyal also shared images from the ‘onboarding drive in Chennai’ and wrote: “Proud to mention that zomato is now 160+ differently-abled delivery partners strong who have delivered ~39,000 orders. Our target – onboard 300 partners by Dec ’23.”

In 2019, another video went viral that showed a Zomato delivery agent, named Ramu, using a hand-powered tricycle to deliver food. Goyal responded to the video and reached out to the agent to give him an electric vehicle.
